Updates to Worship Services for Stabilisation Period

Dear ORPC family,

With the exponential rise in daily COVID-19 cases in Singapore since the end of August, the government has tightened measures for religious activities in the Stabilisation Period from 27 September 2021 to 24 October 2021.

In compliance with the current restrictions, and to ensure that our congregation are able to worship together safely, the ORPC Session has decided on the following changes to take effect immediately:

  1. Children’s Sunday School will be conducted online. Children aged 12 years and below can participate in vaccinated only-worship services provided they make up no more than 20% of the total number of worshippers on-site.
  2. The maximum capacity of the vaccinated only AM service has been slightly reduced due to the 2-person group size requirement. Worshippers will still be divided into 5 zones in the Sanctuary and Dunman Hall. Zones D and E (Dunman Hall) will only be open for registration when Zones A, B and C (Sanctuary) are almost filled.
  3. Full vaccination will now be required to attend the PM service. With this change, the PM service maximum capacity will now be increased and a second zone will be made available.
  4. All pastoral staff, leaders, and co-workers serving during the worship service (including ushers, AV team, cleaners etc) will be required to undergo a self-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) before the worship service, even if they are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) has in its advisory strongly discouraged seniors aged 60 years old and above from attending or supporting religious activities, even if they are vaccinated.

Please pray for the leaders of ORPC as we consider how to put in place the necessary measures to keep our congregation safe while emphasizing the importance of in-person corporate worship.

Yours in Christ,

Rev Clive Chin
Senior Minister, ORPC
